This ten story structure houses one of the largest collections of religious icons in the world in a landlocked location. Lighthouses are more than just a navigational marker, but a symbol of safety, familiarity and security of home and family. This world-class collection of 100 Byzantine – style icons features the life of Christ & commemorates 1000 years of Christian heritage & culture. Because they portray the History of Salvation in colour, icons are often referred to as a pictorial Bible, the Liturgy in colour, or simply “windows to heaven”.

Originally planned to be built in Israel it has become one of Woodstock’s unique treasures. View a lace pilgrimage, a picture Bible, old maps of Eastern Europe, an original stone from St. Peter’s home in Galilee, scale models of famous lighthouses, and paintings of Southwestern Ontario Lighthouses.

Gift shop features small icons & a variety of related memorabilia. Gallery area accessible by elevator. 9th floor observatory provides panoramic view of Woodstock.

Group tours upon request. Admission by donation.

Hours: 1 – 5 pm, seven days weekly with extended summer hours.
